Where Did 2018 Go?
Posted on
This blog is long overdue, so why not make it the last blog of the year. Looking back over 2018 fills me with pride because most of my clients this year came from recommendations and there is no better advertisement than that. It also made me realise that past clients valued the work that I did for them enough to recommend me to their close friends and family.
I’ve always prided myself on the level of customer service I give to my clients and I don’t ever want that to change. Every couple I meet are special to me, their stories are all different and I love learning about them as a couple, how they met, who proposed and what ideas they have for their wedding.
When sitting with them in a consultation I can often tell what kind of marriage they’ll have just by watching them discuss their wedding plans together. Some couples are so in tune with each other it’s amazing, other couples are polar opposites, a little like me and my husband, but it really works well.
To be involved in a couples’ wedding planning is a privileged position to be in. It should be the best day of their lives, so to be part of something so important to a couple is a true gift.
This year has seen Yours Occasionally have a complete facelift. I redesigned the branding to bring it in line with my core values and style that I wanted to take. The website was completely redesigned turning it into an e-commerce site, so you can buy online. I’m so happy with results, seeing as I did it by myself and I’m no web designer!
I introduced lots of new wedding stationery collections so there is now lots of choice for couples, but I still offer a bespoke service where I can design something unique for the couple.
I’ve been working on bringing regular, recognisable, timely up to date social media posts for couples to read and hopefully learn from. Engaging with my audience has been a key objective for this year. I want my audience to know not just about Yours Occasionally, but to gain insightful knowledge about wedding planning and ultimately marriage. Entering my tenth year of marriage, I’ve picked up my own tips, tricks and knowledge along the way.
Looking forward to 2019, I’ll be launching The Occasion Club, a collection of bespoke handmade greeting cards for all occasions, from New Baby Cards to With Sympathy cards. I’m really looking forward to bringing my passion for painting and drawing back into my work.
Thank you as ever for your continued support.
I wish you all a happy, healthy and successful new year.
