tipi talking
This week I wanted to showcase some of my favourite stationery I’ve made over the years and tell you why they’re my favourites. These invitations were designed as little tipis as the wedding reception was held in a tipi in a beautiful country park. The bride and groom trusted me with this challenging make and I really enjoyed the whole process. I painted the bluebells on the outside of the invitation, which were a representation of the bluebell woods near to the venue. As the invitations were being sent through the post, I had to make sure that the invitations could flatten into the envelopes and be put together by the recipient and maintaining their shape. I also painted the map of the route from the church to the reception venue. I relished this challenge, it’s so nice to make something really different occasionally and we were all pleased with the results.
leaves for the leafs
These invitations were designed for a couple whose theme was leaves, the reason being was that the groom’s surname is Leaf. The invitations were made using Kraft card and ivory card. I also included a skeleton leaf and wrapped the invitation in parcel twine. Everything looked natural and had a real back to nature feel about it, but with elegance. The table plan was made into the shape of Maple leaves and hung from a tree. The couple were great to work with and it was great bringing their vision to life. I have stayed in touch with the couple over since their wedding and every year I design and make their personalised Christmas cards for them, which has been such fun.
the monopoly project
I know I keep showing this Monopoly themed seating plans, but it remains to this day one of my favourite pieces of stationery. I was quite new to the business back in 2014, so it was an epic challenge (and probably still would be today, to be honest). I spent a long time studying the original Monopoly board to recrate the colours and making sure I had enough places on each side of the board. I used original game pieces to decorated the board with so it looked like the game was in play. I almost didn’t want to let this one go, and I still wish I’d made one for me too!
sorrento story
I will forever love this wedding stationery suite. It was my first destination wedding back in 2014. The couple had a very clear vision of their wedding stationery, and it was an art deco theme, which matched their venue in Sorrento. The venue had some beautiful art deco railings, which the couple photographed and I incorporated as part of the stationery design, which you will be able to see clearly when you look at the Tram Ticket. I could have made stationery for this couple forever, their ideas were so lovely and easy to translate to a finished product. I would have loved to have set up their stationery on their wedding day as the location was truly breathtaking.
addington palace
I love multifaith weddings, I learn so much about other cultures, religions and traditions. This stationery design was so vivid and bright, it couldn’t fail to make you smile. The order of service explained how the ceremony would happen and why certain things were done and their meaning. The venue was stunning and everything popped with colour. This was a really happy make for me.
